Day 1 Gostoso Beach
Departing from Natal headed towards the Redinha beach, where we cross the Pirangi River in a ferryboat headed towards the north Rio Grande do Norte seashore. We go through the beautiful beaches of Jacumã, where the sport of “aerobunda” is practiced, an exciting dune fall, that ends in a refreshing pond bath. If the tide and climate conditions are favorable, we can take a dive in the reefs of the Maracajaú beach, 60 km from Natal. We still shall visit the São Roque Cape, the South American geographical point that is closest to Africa, and Ponta do Calcanhar, where there is one of the world’s tallest lighthouses. First overnight stay in pleasant lodge at the Gostoso Beach.
Day 2 Gostoso Beach – Ponta do Mel Beach
Departing from São Miguel do Gostoso heading towards the Marco Beach, where the tourists will have the opportunity of seeing a replica of a colonial mark from 1501, plunged by the Portuguese, which one speculates to be the first of Brazil, unlike the official history records. We cross dozens of deserted beaches and grand creeks, to reach the second overnight stay place, the beautiful Ponta do Mel Beach.
Day 3 Ponta do Mel Beach - Canoa Quebrada Beach
Departure from Ponta do Mel to the famous Canoa Quebrada Beach, in the do Ceará State, going through the famous Ceará beaches, featuring jangadas, reddish cliffs, and abundant coconut palm plantations, in contrast with the deep blue sea. The lobster and the shrimp are the main dishes served in the native restaurants. We shall still have time to catch the mesmerizing sunset of Canoa Quebrada.
Day 4 Canoa Quebrada Beach – Fortaleza
Departing from Canoa Quebrada, going through Aracati historic downtown, with its mansions and churches of the Portuguese colonization period. We visit on this journey, among others, the beaches of Morro Branco and of Fontes, stage scenery of many Brazilian Rede Globo soap operas, with its clean water spouts sprouting from the cliffs. Arrival in Fortaleza at the end of the afternoon for a deserved rest period in the 4* hotel.
Day 5 Fortaleza – Mundau Beach
Departure from Fortaleza at 8 AM to an off-road seashore course. Visitation to several beaches, among them, Cumbuco, with mandatory stop for sand ski and photographs, Paracuru and Lagoinha, one of the most beautiful Ceará post cards, where we stop for lunch (not included), which may eventually be at the Fleixeiras Beach due to the end of the day tide. At the end of the afternoon, we shall visit the Mundaú rendeiras (female lace makers) to witness their ancestral craftsman techniques, and following that we shall watch the sunset in the dunes. Overnight stay in a lodge at Mundaú Beach.
Day 6 Mundau Beach – Jericoacoara
Departure for Jericoacoara traveling through secondary roads, deserted beaches, and fishermen villages, being presented to a little of the peaceful life of the sertanejo (inlander native). We will meet, among others, the beaches of Baleia, Caetanos and Icaraizinho. Arrival in Jericoacoara at the end of the afternoon. Overnight stay in a lodge.
Day 7 Jericoacoara
Jeep ride to Azul and Paraíso Lagoons, with its crystal waters, going back to Jeri at the end of the afternoon to watch the sunset spectacle into the sea, seen from the top of the large dune, tourists meeting place.
Day 8 Jericoacoara - Camocim
In the morning, according to the tide timing, we depart through a section of beaches and tracks (approx. 40 km), with ferry crossings in the Tatajuba Environment Protection Area, ancient fishermen village, reconstructed after having been buried by the dunes. Our destination is at the other side of the Coreaú River. Overnight stay in Camocim at the Boa Vista Resort.
Day 9 Camocim – Parnaiba
At 8a.m., we get the highway towards Parnaíba city, where we take a motorboat tour to see the Parnaíba River Delta, one of the 3 largest deltas in the world with such rich ecosystem. During the tour, we stop for baths, photographs and dunes exploring. Overnight stay in a lodge in Parnaíba.
Day 10 Parnaiba – Cabure – Barrerinhas
In the morning, departure to the Caburé Beach, in the State of Maranhão, a small strip of land in the Lençóis Maranhenses between the Atlantic Ocean and the Preguiças River. Motorboat ride through the Preguiças river, glimpsing through the rich mangue vegetation, and the Pequenos Lençóis that emerge from its banks. Arrival and overnight stay at Barreirinhas.
Day 11 Barreirinhas
In the morning, ride on a 4x4 local jeep (jardineira) to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, visiting Lagoas Azul or Bonita, two of the most beautiful crystal-water lagoons of the park, in the midst of the white dunes vastness.
Day 12 Barreirinhas – Sao Luis
In the morning, trip to Sao Luis by plane (50 min) or private van with AC (3h30min). Transfer to hotel. End of services.
